Rinoa – S/T

By paul

Rinoa are easily one of the best young bands around right now. This four-tracker is a dark and brooding affair, showcasing a talent wiser than their relative youth. There’s an atmospheric and expansive element to their sound which really does set them apart from the many clone-bands that have drifted in and out of the scene, riding on the coat tails of bands like Bring Me The Horizon and many others. Rinoa manage to avoid all of the obvious cliches and concentrate on ripping through four brilliant tracks. From the seven-minute opening track of ‘Between The Pillars’, to the fantastic and aggressive ‘Above The Oceans’, it’s clear the band are onto a winner. If the band can twist and turn their way with such power and enthusiasm in a live setting, I think the mainstream music press will pick up on them sooner rather than later.
