Red: The Resistance – EP

By paul

A self-proclaimed political post-hardcore band, Red:the resistance are quite a good prospect. Certainly the five tracks on offer here are well produced and well crafted, although I think if things were sped up slightly and a little more technical the band would be better suited. For instance, the last third of ‘Sparking An Affirmative Uprising’ just begs for an overblown guitar solo which would make it infinitely more interesting. That said, the band mix a powerful message with some clever melodies and that’s to be applauded. They have something to say – which is a novelty in itself nowadays – and they put that message across with a set of five good songs. A band to keep an ear on.
