Congrats to Radicus for being the first band to have their record reviewed as part of our digital-only reviewing process. And what a way to start! This EP is highly impressive and it seems as though the band are improving with every release. The tracks here remind me of an early Rise Against play-fighting with No Trigger with the vocal harmonies of a pop-punk band. ‘2 Legit To Quit’ is brilliant, like a more poppy Pendleton. If you like your punk rock to feature riffage aplenty, Radicus are the band for you.
The good songs continue to roll with the riff-tastic ‘The Enemy of Invention’ and the clever ‘MVF’. My only gripe with this record is that there’s very little variation and the songs begin to sound samey after a while. But it’s done to a very high standard so Radicus can be forgiven. In terms of UK acts they’re up there with the best of them. If you haven’t checked them out before this would be a very good starting point.
