Released on indie Lazy Acre, this EP is the first proper UK release for Norway’s Pipedream. The band claim to be influenced by the likes of Bloc Party, Band of Horses, Carpark North, Mew, Keane, The Killers and Muse and that’s not too bad a list to start with – there’s an atmospheric side to the band that sets them apart from the myriad of ‘heavier’ bands that you could lump Pipedream in with. Truth be told I quite enjoyed this five-tracker. It doesn’t really do anything too new and it doesn’t push too many boundaries, but it’s a solid record. The band are tight and good musicians and that is showed on this record. It’s not as catchy as some of the bands named above, but if you’re a fan of any of them it’s well worthy of a listen.
