Sometimes a relentlessly noisy 7″ is just what you need. Lightbringer‘s growly hardcore debut is a great reminder that the UK has a knack of kicking out some great angry bands right under your own nose. It’s all very dark from the off, and though not destroying any major genre boundaries per se, the instrumentation is solid throughout and it’s a refreshing combination of interesting beatdowns and impressive guitar work.
The title track rightly lays the hardest punch on the ears, but all three of the songs on show are accomplished for a debut 7″ and give a good impression of what to expect from the band live. Notably- the gritty vocals carry the band’s aggressive sound perfectly and add a dimension setting them apart from many contemporaries, and make them well worth a listen and checking out live.
