Lest We Forget – S/T

By paul

What a brilliant little band Lest We Forget are. After forming in March this year the Essex five-piece have hit the road and shared the stage with the likes of Exit Ten, Enter Shikari and Flood of Red and recorded a four-track EP – which I have to say is really very good indeed. There’s a distinct early Funeral For A Friend/Thrice influence, but the band are technically proficient and good enough to give each of the four tracks their own slant. ‘Beneath Skins’ is an absolutely brilliant track, as is the band’s first single, ‘Message to the World’. The production is marvellous and the vocals hit all the right spots – the song structures suggest the band have been writing material for years and years rather than a few months. There are some really talented young bands coming out of Essex at the minute and Lest We Forget can easily become the best if they keep this up.
