Hello Mexico – Five Twenty Seven

By paul

Mike recently reviewed this band, back in January, and described them as being a bit like Fall of Troy playing Karate tunes. I don’t hear that at all! Hello Mexico are a London-based five-piece that play a relaxed, rockin’ style that’s based around a pretty cool vocal melody. They’re a band willing to mix things up a little bit too, from the chilled out title track to the singalong ‘What If I Were Smiling’. And I like that in a band; there’s enough variation here to keep things interesting and keep people hooked. There are so many bands doing this type of thing that it’s easy to lose interest fast, so keeping someone hooked in is no easy feat. At times there’s a Further Seems Forever type vibe to this band and I like it. Ones to watch, for sure.
