Guantanamo Babes – Permanent Joyride

By paul

Silly name aside, Guantanamo Babes aren’t too bad. I’ll be honest, they don’t do much for me but I can imagine they will do something for fans of early Capdown and NoComply. There’s a distinct Britishness to their sound and for most of the tracks here they err on the side of good. It’s just not something I listen to on a regular basis and not a record good enough to want me to listen to it more often either. As the record drags on the band run out of ideas and the songs begin to sound very samey, but in short doses this isn’t too bad at all – if you like that sort of thing.
