Wait, is this the new Fall Out Boy record? To say vocalist Will Clements sounds like Patrick Stump is an understatement – they’re identical! So I can safely say that if you like FOB you will like GSR as they’re practically the same band, minus the razor-sharp lyrics.
If GSR took the pace up a notch then they’d be a really, really exciting prospect. They have everything you need in a good pop-punk band nailed already – melodies, production, singalongs…check, check, check. Unfortunately as this sounds so similar to FOB I can’t give it anymore than 3/5. But take this band as a prospect and they’re as exciting a UK pop-punk band I’ve heard in a while. They do have a clutch of songs good enough to take on their US counterparts, they just need to stamp their own identity on it too.
