Flash Fire – Someday Maybe

By paul

Flash Fire are a three-piece from New Jersey who play a poppy brand of pop-rock that is slick, well put together and certainly on the right lines. You could (successfully) argue the band are doing nothing new, but then pop-punk/rock is a genre that rarely reinvents the wheel. It simply does what it says on the tin and matches rockier elements with pop melodies. Flash Fire show they can do just that. While their first three songs are not world beaters, the likes of ‘Coming Home’ tick all the right boxes. The vocals are smooth and melodic, the choruses are certainly memorable and everything sounds like the band have been at it for years. There’s some way to go if they want to become world beaters, but you can’t knock the band for their first three songs. Good stuff.
