This single track promo is from the London based trio’s forthcoming album ‘Eversholt Street’ which is due out in September on Human Recordings. With any luck it’ll build on the bands previous success including a budget video played on MTV and MTV2 as well as national radio airplay.
So what does this single track sound like? Well as one may have guessed it carries quite a radio friendly sound but still feels largely DIY, mainly due to the fact that it was recorded in a bedroom. Influences seem to stem from 80’s indie and pop but the song remains as catchy as the common cold. Rebekah Delgado’s voice and lush melodies perfectly sugarcoat an unashamedly simplistic yet highly effective backing resulting in an instantaneously happy-go-lucky alternate indie pop song.
This is a strange thing to review for this site but I’m not complaining at all; if CICCONE were to increase their success within various mediums I wouldn’t mind in the slightest. In fact, I’d be glad to see this track replacing most of the shite that gets played on mainstream radio and the music channels. If you like pure yet harmlessly addictive guitar pop then this may be your next fix.
