Ceremony – Still Nothing Moves You

By paul

I’ll be honest, I just don’t ‘get’ this record. Sure, it’s heavy and it’s hard and all that jazz, but it’s just a bit bizarre for me. At times it wanders over towards thrash before veering back towards hardcore. Often during the same song. The basslines are insanely good mind, ‘A Blight On Mental Health’ is a brilliant song, but it’s about the only one I could really appreciate without being baffled as to where each song is really going. Fair play for the band not going down the usual hardcore route, but this is a little to out there for my melodic little ears…
