I think regular readers of PT know I’m firmly of the opinion that bands such as Beerzone should have died when the Sex Pistols called it a day. Re-issuing two of their early albums to co-incide with the band’s 10th anniversary – and perhaps, more pertinently, punk’s 30th anniversary – this isn’t so much a reminder of a talent lost than a band looking to cash in on old men going through a mid-life crisis and looking to re-live their rebellious youth – via the pages of supplements in The Observer or The Times, natch. If you’re looking for boozy three-chord anthems which are instantly forgettable you’ll find dozens of the buggers here. The rest of us? Well you’ll probably have pressed stop by the time you get to track 4…
