Autocue – 2010 Demos

By paul

Good Lord, this is shite.

I won’t beat around the bush, listening to this wasted enough of my time so I won’t waste yours as well. This is a badly produced (OK, it’s a bunch of demos, so I’ll forgive them for that) clusterfuck of genres that doesn’t really know what it wants to sound like (that bit’s unforgiveable). There are some dreadful vocals, bits that just sound messy and more tinny sounding riffs than I’ve heard in a long while. And that’s just the last 30 seconds of ‘Upgrade My Life’.

Autocue are clearly some kind of joke band. They sing in funny accents with lyrics that I guess are supposed to be funny (they try and rhyme ‘singers’ and ‘mingers’ and talk about putting cocks in people’s mouths), but it’s so purile and pathetic it’s not so much cringeworthy as just fucking dreadful. By the time ‘When’s A Ballad Not A Ballad’ comes round and the singer kind of talks about ‘coming on your face, twice’ I really wanted to ram the metaphorical CD up the singer’s arse until it snapped his colon in two. Why do people actually bother with this sort of stuff? It’s up there with the worst stuff I’ve ever, ever heard in my life. And from someone who has reviewed 3,000+ records for PT, that’s quite some achievement.
