Italian rockers Anomia are the latest additions to the Glasstone Records stable and, like many of the other bands on this growing label, are more rock based than punk. That’s no bad thing, but for me – or what I’ve heard of the bands so far anyway – there’s no so much variety, tending to side with the screamier end of things which isn’t really my bag. Anomia are much more melodic and as a result come across better than many of the other artists I’ve heard. They’re by no means outstanding, but the songs on this record hit home quite nicely. The band claim to be influenced by Creed, Incubus, Deftones and The Used, but their sound is perhaps more akin to bands like The Black Maria or, to an extent, Quicksand. Either way, this record isn’t too bad – perhaps a little unadventurous but certainly not bad enough to turn your nose up.
