There’s something refreshingly honest about this little EP. Leeds punks Acid Drop play beer-swilled punk rock in the style of late 90s EpiFat bands, with a slight folk-tinge to it. It’s about as fashionable as a bright yellow shellsuit, but it sounds fun, energetic and has plenty of singalongs too. ‘Polly Piper’ is arguably the band’s best song, a joyful tale of a young girl called Polly played to a soundtrack of machine gun drums, superb vocals and some perfect backing “oi’s”. Acid Drop don’t try and do anything new and they don’t try and push at musical boundaries, but they write super catchy songs with bite and will guarantee you a good time. And that, to me, makes them well worth a listen.
