Their sound has over time grown more and more pop-orientated and despite this effort being darker and moodier, Atlas & I – In Desolate Times The first track on this offering from ATLAS&I is an instrumental introduction and a slightly misleading starter, it’s quite a delicate and atmospheric affair which is more post-rock than the slightly generic emo main-course that the rest of the album serves Pettybone – EP you find an all-female quartet (Hearts Under Fire excluded). Fortunately, London-based Pettybone are exactly that. Claiming to be “the sound of the revolt”, the back-to-basics punk rockers instantaneously declare that you can follow your dreams even when shot down; stating that you should never give Mouthwash – Camden Barfly Hot! Damn hot! There?s no other way to describe the diminutive upstairs room at Camden?s Barfly. It?s one of the first autumn nights (read: brisk) outside but it?s overly hot inside. When Mouthwash frontman Nipper Fry mentions the fact there?s a subdued groan, Mmm..Baked Alaska Hey! Alaska have shot a tour video for their track ‘We Are Your Saviours’: Big Scary Interns Big Scary Monsters, one of the UK’s finest independant record labels are looking for interns.
