Koopa – Three In A Bed… EP Koopa remind me of Whitmore crossed with Violent Delight. And for any regular reader of PT, you know exactly where this review is going… Koopa‘s brand of slapstick pop-punk is clearly serving them well, a quick shufty at their myspace shows they’re New Addison tracks – feat TMS guest slot! Sheffield band Addison have just posted 2 new songs up on their Myspace page for streaming and download. Recorded by Manchester producer Andy Farrer, the songs are ‘The Compromise’ (Feat. Greg from The Maple State) and ‘…Of Lovers and Actors’. They can be found at Exit Avenue – Made for the Arcade From the look of the dated 80s influenced cover, you could be mistaken for thinking Exit Avenue were totally obsessed with all things electronic. Oh wait, they are. Describing themselves as “fusing Electronica limbs to the Pop Punk torso of a Ninja-Dragon”, they seem to have patented The Guys – Live The Party It’s amazing the bilge record labels will serve up sometimes, and The Guys are proof that ‘have trend, will release’ is surely the motto of some bastard imprints. The Guys sound like they recorded this in a dumpster back in 1963 – it’s got that Fenwick – Totally OK Fenwick can nicely be summed up as an average Lookout Records-influenced all girl pop-punk band. They’re rough around the edges, the vocals sound quite nice at times, but ultimately they borrow far too many ideas from far too many bands that do this Impinge – Night Mechanics I have no idea why Impinge have sent us a CD to review, seeing as though it’s about as punk as Girls Aloud. These Uxbridge lads actually sound a bit like Pearl Jam or Nickleback (without the gruff vocals or catchy hooks), which is about as damning Go east Driving East has signed with The Militia Group.
