IDLES Announce UK & Ireland Tour, Free Tickets for Key Workers

IDLES have announced dates for their upcoming UK & Ireland tour, and with it, free tickets for key workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Bristol group, who insist they are “not a f**king punk band”, announced the tour over social media, featuring eleven shows including two nights each in the Glasgow Barrowlands, Vicar Street, Dublin, and the O2 Academy Brixton.

Alongside Live Nation, they are offering the tickets on a first come, first served basis from today until Wednesday to workers in any of the eight sectors set-out by the UK Government, “Health and social care, education and childcare, key public services, local and national government, food and other necessary goods, public safety and national security, transport, and utilities, communication and financial services”.

IDLES join a litany of musicians who have touted support for workers in the healthcare sector and beyond during the pandemic. Previously, Irish act Fontaines D.C. followed a similar trend releasing tickets for their UK tour to NHS staff and key workers, while acts like Liam Gallagher & Primal Scream, Fatboy Slim, and even Rick Astley offered free shows to health workers in April in response to the spread of the virus.

Tickets go onsale to the general public on Friday 28th August. Their third album, ‘Ultra Mono’ drops 25th September.

Boston Manor announce new album ‘GLUE’ and UK headline tour

It doesn’t feel like such a long time since Boston Manor unleashed ‘Welcome to the Neighbourhood‘ on the world, but yesterday saw a surprise announcement of brand new record, ‘GLUE’, due May 1st.

Reluctant to do things by half, the announcement comes with a full track listing, some fun pre-order packages, and a full UK tour with Australian Trophy Eyes acting as support – a fitting slot given John Floreani’s appearance on the album’s first single, ‘Liquid’.

Jimmy Eat World announce tenth studio album

It’s been three years since the release of Jimmy Eat World’s last studio album, ‘Integrity Blues’ – so the news that the Arizona legends will be dropping their tenth studio album in less than a month is more than enough to make our Monday approximately 500% better.

Accompanying the news that the new album, called ‘Surviving’, will be released on 18 October is lead single ‘All The Way (Stay)’, which you can watch the video for in full below. Pre-orders and merch bundles for ‘Surviving’ are available now via the band’s webstore here.

And if that’s not enough, the band have also announced three intimate UK shows for the week of album release that will see them head to Sheffield, Kingston, and London, including a special ‘Live to Vinyl’ recording session at London’s Metropolis Studios, in partnership with Mastercard. Parkway Drive announce European Revolution 2020 tour

Fresh from taking Bloodstock by storm this summer, as well as playing to gigantic crowds across Europe at the likes of the legendary Wacken Open Air, Australian metalcore heavyweights Parkway Drive have now announced their return next April with the ‘Viva The Underdogs – European Revolution’ tour.

It’s set to be one of their biggest tours yet, playing arenas around the continent before finishing up at London’s legendary SSE Arena in Wembley on 18 April. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, 17 September at 10am (local time), with tickets for the London date available here – it’s sure to be a mindblowing night, so don’t miss out! WSTR release new single and announce UK tour

Just when we were beginning to feel we were missing some seriously good new pop punk in our lives, who better to save us than WSTR? After the success of sophomore album ‘Identity Crisis’ last year, the four piece have returned with one of the most irresistible tracks of the year in ‘Filthy’ – put it this way, if it were a book, it would be described as “unputdownable” on dust jackets everywhere.

Fireball Fuelling The Fire announce two all-dayers, Less Than Jake to play Hello Rockview in full

We’re less than two weeks from the Fireball Fuelling The Fire tour kicking off, and we’re counting down the days. In an effort to make us even more excited, Fireball and Academy Events have announced both the Birmingham and London are being extended into all-dayers, the first in Fireball Tour history.

With Less Than Jake, Goldfinger, Save Ferris and Thieves Of Liberty already confirmed, Birmingham will now also host Snuff, King Prawn, and Lady Bird. In London, Snuff have also joined the bill, alongside Buster Shuffle and The Bottom Line.

And if that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, headliners Less Than Jake have confirmed they will be playing their timeless yet nostalgic album ‘Hello Rockview’ in full. If that’s not enough to persuade you to pick up a ticket, nothing will.

Lamb Of God announce first UK headline tour in six years

Aside from a co-headliner slot with Megadeth, appearing as special guests on Slayer’s final run, and popping up at the occasional festival, Lamb Of God haven’t spent much time on these shores recently. So news that that will change next year is more than welcome.

Their first headline tour since January 2014, Lamb Of God have announced that their next UK headline tour will kick off in April 2020.

Bringing labelmates and fellow metallers Kreator, as well as Texan thrash unit Power Trip, it’s sure to be one hell of a show, with Lamb Of God’s front man Randy Blythe saying “It’s always a blast when you tour with someone for the first time, so we’re looking forward to hitting the road with Kreator, as well as getting some more hang time with our maniac pals in Power Trip.”

Counterfeit release new single and announce headline tour

The summer is normally busy for everyone – especially in this industry, with Festival Season taking up most of the warm(er) months. After a packed-out headline show at London’s Garage, as well as their debut Main Stage performance at Reading & Leeds, it’s fair to say Counterfeit haven’t had a quiet summer either.

Releasing new single ‘It Gets Better’ through their new label Lava Records US/Virgin EMI UK, they’re feeling at home. Frontman Jamie Bower said of the single, “our goal is to bring people together to dismantle the barriers that divide us as a species and to make a change in the world.” You can listen to ‘It Gets Better’ in full below.

Imminence announce London show and European tour

Following the release of third album ‘Turn The Light On’ earlier this year, Swedish metalcore group Imminence have announced their biggest tour yet – and they’ll be making a rare stop in the UK as part of the 21 date run across 12 countries.

Starting in Copenhagen on 15 January, the band will be heading to London’s Thousand Island on 19 January, before the tour continues across France, Belgium, and Germany. Tickets are available for all dates here, and a full list of tour dates can be found below.

Against The Current announce December tour

Having just completed superb main stage sets at Reading and Leeds Festivals this weekend, New York pop rock sensations Against The Current have announced a four date UK tour later this year.

Following a tour of mainland Europe, the band will be taking in Cardiff and Manchester, before heading to Islington’s Assembly Hall for two final dates, with support from guccihighwaters. Full details can be found below, and tickets for the UK dates go on sale here on Friday 30 August at 10am.
