Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson to do rare meet and greet in Birmingham this Thursday

This Thursday 23rd January, Slipknot Guitarist Mick Thomson will be doing an exclusive meet and greet and signing at GuitarGuitar in Birmingham starting at 6pm ahead of the band’s evening performance.

With no paid VIP meet and greet packages in sight, this is an extremely rare opportunity for Slipknot fans – particularly in the UK.

The event will work on a first come first serve basis, however it’s expected that Thomson will stick around for as long as he can to meet as many fans as possible. It’s expected that a couple of hundred of Birmingham-based fans will be heading down to the signing, so be sure to head down early to avoid long waits!

Fans are welcome to bring whatever item they’d like Thomson to autograph and staff will also be handing out flyers to be signed by Mick that fans can take away with them.

If you can make it along to the evening, be sure to ask Thomson about his signature guitars!

Black Peaks announce in-store signings and free live shows

Brighton four-piece Black Peaks have announced five in-store signings and a run of free live shows set to coincide with the band’s newest album release this October.

Black Peaks will play an album launch show at London’s The Omeara on October 5th, followed by a series of signings and live shows (free to anyone who buys the album in store on the day of the signing). See the full list of dates below:

WSTR sign to Hopeless Records, announce new album

UK pop punk group WSTR have announced that they have signed to label Hopeless Records. Alongside this announcement, the band also detailed that their sophomore album, ‘Identity Crisis’, is to be released via the label on August 31.

WSTR also premiered their new single ‘Bad To The Bone’ on Daniel P. Carter’s Radio One Rock Show on Sunday 3 June. You can listen to that here:

WSTR will be performing at Download Festival on Saturday 9 June.

Savage Hands sign to SharpTone Records and announce debut EP ‘Barely Alive’

Enter Savage Hands, delivering a feast of sincerity and spitefulness that will doubtless satisfy long-time fans of the genre and newcomers alike. With a bellyful of hardcore punk fury and just a touch of sinister dissonance, SharpTone Records are very pleased to announce that the five piece have joined the family!

SharpTone Records commented on the signing:
“The moment we heard Savage Hands we were instantly hooked. They have everything we love about music; great energy, impactful lyrics and anthemic melodies which stick with you for days!! ‘Barley Alive’ is a great introduction into the rock music landscape.”

The band have also released their debut single titled ‘Red’ as well as a video for the track.

Rough Hands sign to Venn Records, announce new EP and perform label showcase at the Black Heart

Rough Hands have joined the Venn Records roster. Alongside the announcement the label have also confirmed that they will be releasing a new 12″ EP in April. The EP is called ‘Moral Terror’ and will supposedly “make you feel uncomfortable and it will make you uneasy.”

‘Moral Terror’ was produced by Jag Jago (ex-Ghost Of A Thousand, Rattlesnakes) and new music will be available soon.

“We’ve had an eye on Rough Hands for a while and it’s been amazing watching them progress. The new EP is everything Venn is about – ominous, visceral and uncompromising.” – Lags, Venn Records

Venn Records are also hosting Gold Key, Rough Hands and Rain at Camden’s Black Heart on January 30th for a label showcase.

Stone release video for ‘Lost On You’ and announce UK & European tour dates

Milwaukee hardcore band Stone have released a video for their single ‘Lost On You’. The band featuring ex-Expire guitarist Zach Dear, also recently signed to Pasadena based label Pure Noise Records. The label will release the band’s debut album, ‘Inch of Joy’, on 2nd March 2018 and has already launched a pre-order.

“’Lost On You’ is for the people that talk and talk about how much they give a shit about hardcore and at the end of the day, it couldn’t be further from the truth. This dies if you don’t give back what you take from it.” – explains Zach Dear

Terror sign to Nuclear Blast Records

Terror have announced that they have signed to Nuclear Blast Records for their European releases.

The band are currently working on their upcoming eighth album, which will be released later this summer through the label in Europe, with Pure Noise Records handling the rest of the world. It will follow their EP ‘The Walls Will Fall’ from last year.
