Main Stage:

THE CURE
Loved by indie kids, punks and goths alike, The Cure’s return to Reading seems long overdue. Expect epic renditions of the big hitters and quirkier rarities like ’10:15 Saturday Night’ making an appearance. Don’t miss it.

PARAMORE
The obvious choice perhaps, but having already proven themselves on the mainstage as quintet, after the departure of 2 members everyone is eagerly awaiting Paramore’s new incarnation. Reading will get an early taste of the re-vamped Paramore and possibly some new tunes as well.

DEAF HAVANA
Deaf Havana’s stock in the rock world is steadily rising. Their upcoming tour will no doubt feature a string of sell out dates, so catch them at Reading before they blow up big.

NME/Radio 1 Stage

THE MACCABEES
Having released one of the most lauded albums of the year, expect a ram-packed tent and Reading indie goodness at its best for The Maccabees.

THE HIVES
One of Sweden’s finest, The Hives are no strangers to Reading, and they’re sure to make a welcome return with an arsenal of hits and a fantastic live show.

FUTURE OF THE LEFT
If their new album ‘the plot against common sense’ is anything to go by, expect rock n’ roll insanity tinged with social commentary from FoL in what will be one of the most manic sets of the weekend.

Lock Up Stage

SOCIAL DISTORTION
Road warriors and punk club veterans’ Social Distortion will have no trouble charming those who are craving for some rock at Reading, and their headline set on the Friday should provide a fine alternative to The Cure over on the main stage.

TOUCHE AMORE
‘Parting The Sea Between Brightness and Me’ blew many people away (including us), and sent the band’s popularity skyrocketing. For emotive hardcore there is no better band around at the moment, and you don’t really want to be anywhere else when they’re on.

STAR FUCKING HIPSTERS
The ever-eclectic Star Fucking Hipsters’ genre straddling sound will go down a treat for those interested in a little more versatility at the Lock Up Stage, and Stza is one of the most interesting frontmen in punk. Even if you’re predisposed to dislike LoC, Star Fucking Hipsters are well worth a watch.

Festival Republic Stage

THE SUBWAYS
The Subways and Reading festival just seem to go togethe hand in hand, and now that their experience rings louder than ever, their sing-along songs will be some of the best of the weekend in the revamped Festival Republic line up.

LUCY ROSE
Lucy’s an up-and-coming folk singer that’s well worth keeping your eye on. Yes, the Laura Marling comparisons will be thrown around, but if you want something a bit more chilled out, than she’s your act.

BBC Introducing Stage

PROXIES
Having toured with both Canterbury and Hadouken, Proxies will hope that their electro influenced rock will garner them a similar following, and their appearance on the BBC Introducing Stage is an absolute must-see;

WE WERE FRONTIERS
Taking their cues from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, We Were Frontiers’ indie-folk will sound glorious if the sun decides to shine down on them, and they’re yet another band making the BBC Introducing stage stronger than ever.

CLARA CULLEN

Our final Reading festival preview will be online tomorrow (Saturday)…

The single is taken from their forthcoming album ‘Lex Hives’, which lands at the start of June through Columbia.
