The Run Up – ‘WKND’

‘WKND’ is the lead single from Bristol-based The Run Up’s self-titled debut LP,  which is released next week through Real Ghost Records. A fine slice of melodic punk rock.

Old Wounds – ‘Only Your Enemies Leave Roses’

A punishingly heavy new tune from the New Jersey crew, out now through Good Fight. Think Converge meets Poison The Well. They’re back on the road for a handful of shows across the North West of the US before the end of the year.

Phinius Gage – ‘Battered And Bruised’

Having split up back in 2008, after touring an insane amount since their formation in 2002, the Brighton-punks are back together and active again. ‘Battered And Bruised’ is taken from a best-of collection, out now through Disconnect Disconnect Records.

Thrice – ‘Red Telephone’

Thrice are just awesome. Originally a B-side from the 2009 album ‘Beggars’, ‘Red Telephone’ has been given a proper release, which it truly deserves. Currently on tour in the US with Circa Survive.

Random Hand – ‘Anger Management’

Random Hand are back together and active again after a few years away. Fantastic news for UK ska punk. The first announcement is an appearance at Manchester Punk Festival in April.

Waco – ‘Mother Mercy’

Truly one of the jewels in the crown of the underground scene in the UK. ‘Mother Mercy’ is taken from ‘Deathless’ – out now through Venn Records. Catch them at The House Of Vans, London on November 15.

Dinosaur Pile-Up – ‘Red And Purple’

Dinosaur Pile-Up are currently smashing their way through an extensive UK tour. Be quick and make sure to make it to a show! Riffs and melodies galore! ‘Eleven Eleven’ is out now.

The band played over 500 shows in the UK and Europe during their existence, touring with bands including Streetlight Manifesto, Reuben, Ten Foot Pole, Flood of Red, [spunge], 4ft Fingers and RedLightsFlash. They released two albums on the now defunct Deck Cheese Records, before moving to German label Fond of Life. The band’s final album was 2007’s ‘Seek Out Your Foes’ and came out on UK label Small Town Records. The band broke up in 2008, but reformed in 2015 for reunion shows.

“This compilation brings together all of the band’s most melodic, catchy, 100mph songs, many of which have been out of print for over a decade. The remasters have bought new life to the songs, with the album being completed by two unreleased demos and one rare, non-album track.”

Brighton Skatepunks Phinius Gage have confirmed on Facebook that last month’s UK tour with Spunge was not a one off. PT will keep you posted on developments. The band are selling tour leftover shirts too on their BigCartel – £8 each, including a free CD.

Brighton Skate Punks Phinius Gage have joined the hordes of reforming bands. As reported by PT a while ago, they are reuniting. The first announced action is a Brighton show on October 2nd. Tickets are available via Seetickets now or from Punker Bunker in Brighton.

London Skate Punks Company L, the short lived side project of ex-Pickled Dick/Mike TV, Mouthwash, Ramonas, The Pins and Phinius Gage members have put up their only EP for free download – and included 2 extra, unreleased live tracks. Their EP was released by Disconnect, Disconnect Records in 2010.

Phinius Gage, the Brighton skate punk mob, who resurfaced recently to offer all of their back catalogue on Bandcamp, have also just released a new video on youtube for their song ‘Mary F**king Kelly’, from their ‘Seek Out Your Foes’ album, which came out just before they split up.

Keeping the 00’s UK punk renaissance going at a pace, Brighton 100mph skatepunks Phinius Gage have put up their entire back catalogue on Bandcamp and are offering it all for free/pay-what-you-want. The band split in 2008. They released ‘More Haste More Speed’ in 2003, ‘The Feeling Something’s Wrong’ in 2005′, ‘Brighton Rock’ in 2006 and ‘Seek Out Your Foes’ in 2007.
