Final Slam Dunk artists announced

Alternative music fans rejoice – the final seventeen bands have now been added to the 2019 Slam Dunk line-up, and it’s quite the announcement!

There’s plenty for pop punk fans to celebrate as A Loss For Words return after their break up a few years ago, with Neck Deep, As It Is, Boston Manor, Story Untold, and Between You And Me also joining the festival.

The acoustic line-up has also been confirmed, and sees former Motion City Soundtrack front man Justin Courtney Pierre make his first solo UK appearance alongside Rob Lynch, Liam Patrick Cromby, Lightyear’s Chas Palmer-Williams and Lizzy Farrall.

There’s more for heavier music fans too as Shvpes, The Plot In You, Kublai Khan and Cruel Hand are confirmed, with Grandson and the UK’s own Press To MECO rounding off the announcement. Check the poster below for the full (and impressive) 2019 line-up.

Tickets for the festival, which takes place on Saturday 25 May at Temple Newsham, Leeds (North) and Sunday 26 May at Hatfield Park (South), are still available here, starting at £64.90.

Boston pop punk band, A Loss For Words, have unveiled a new track, ‘I Feel An Army In My Fist’, featuring guest vocals from Comeback Kid vocalist, Andrew Neufeld

It’s the second single to be released from the defunct bands final album, ‘Crises’, which due for release on December 27th.

Boston pop punk band, A Loss For Words, have unveiled a new track, ‘Existential Crisis at the Cask ‘n Flagon’.

It’s the first single to be released from the defunct bands final album, ‘Crises’, which due for release early next year.

Boston’s A Loss For Words have released their latest music video “All This Time” which is taken from their 2013 album ‘Before It Caves’. The Motown influenced pop-punk band recently finished up a 5 year anniversary tour for the band’s debut album, ‘The Kids Can’t Lose’ and can be found on the road this spring in Europe with The Wonder Years and State Champs. You can also check them out at this years Slam Dunk Festival at the end of the month.

It’ll take place on the 27th October at the Fighting Cocks, tickets are £10 and doors will be at 1pm.

1. What are you most looking forward to about the UK?
We’re all just so excited to travel to another country and enjoy the different culture. I personally plan on eating a bunch of new weird things, and we are excited to see how you guys over there party, we here you guys get wild!

2. What have you got to offer to the UK audiences on the tour?

We can promise you that we’ll put our all into the performance. Lots of energy, lots of fun, and alot of positivity. We’re all there because we love music and want to have an awesome time!

3. What is the most annoying thing that has happened to AL4W this year?

Well pretty much anything annoys Marc, he’s the most high-strung person on the planet, can’t wait for you guys to find out haha. But I’d say going to NYC get our visas for Russia last week, and waiting in the wrong line in the freezing cold for 2 hours. Then we waited 2 more hours in the correct line, all the while being screamed at in Russian by like 30 eldery people. Then we had to wait for their lunch break to be over, and come back. But hey, the year is still young, there’s plenty of annoying shit thats bound to happen!

4. Are AL4W aware that in the UK you can buy meat flavoured crisps? What is their opinion on this?

I’ve had Chicken flavored chips in Japan, and Doritos had Hamburger flavored ones out for a short time, and I liked them both. So this makes me very happy.

5. Who is the best at partying in AL4W? Can AL4W realistically expect to party as hard as AON or LYU considering they are American?

LYU asked us the same question. Put up your 3 best against me. I’ll show you guys how the good old US of A does it.

6.What are some of the things you’ve heard to expect from Bostonians/Americans in general?

We don’t really know about Boston to be honest. Don’t they have Irish heritage there? So from that, we expect Drinkers, and I think they have really cool accents. Sorry for that sweeping generalisation but we hear Mike (al4w) is into his Guinness, so we’ll make sure we test that Irish heritage.

7. Where are your favourite places to play in the uk and why?

We love Bridlington because people go absolutely crazy there and the local kids just love live music and going to gigs. Our hometown Birmingham is great as well as we always have a good time at shows with our friends.

8. What proffesional Wrestlers would you be and why?

Drew- “The Rock” Cause you can always smell what he’s cooking
Joe – “Stone Cold” Cause he drinks the most
Rob – “I wouldn’t be a wrestler cause I don’t like violence”
Tom – “Kevin Nash” Cause he’s awesome in the longest yard.

9. What albums/bands will you be listening to in thr van during the tour?

I don’t know, it depends what everyone is feeling, we haven’t done a tour for 2 months so hopefully we’ll have some new stuff to listen to. personally though i’m really liking the cavaliers album (even though it came out ages ago), the new crime in stereo and i’ve just been getting into late nite wars too. the new four year strong will probably have leaked by then too so i imagine we’ll check that out. our friends in blakfish just split up too so we’ll probably spin their record a couple of times.

10. Which show of the tour are you most looking forward to?

I’ve never been to aberdeen and I think it might be the furthest north I will have ever been in my life so maybe that one. it will be a groundbreaking day.
