Warped Tour 2007, Various Artists
Every year Warped release a low-price double CD filled with bands on the tour and every year I write pretty much the same review. So I'll keep this short and sweet - featuring Alakline Trio, Bad Religion, The Matches, Gallows, Madina Lake, As I Lay Dying and Set Your Goals - and that's just on the first of the two discs - this is an excellent way to get in the mood for America's favourite travelling tour.
Of course most of these songs have been heard before on their relevant albums, but I'm a big fan of compilations and as a starter for new fans of the genre, introductions to the likes of Paramore, The Used, Bayside, The Higher and many, many more don't really come better than on this record. Featuring Killswitch Engage and Mayday Parade, all musical styles are catered for too, which makes this a fun listen. That said, with iPods and downloads as prevalent as ever, is there a need for a double CD compilation anymore, especially as the vast majority of these songs can be found on the internet already? Truth be told, probably not and I can see future warped comps becoming download only. However, based on this year's model, there's life in the old dog yet...
