Music Saves Lives, Various Artists

Released in conjunction with SideCho Records, Warped Tour and Myspace, this compilation's proceeds are going towards The American Red Cross. With a good cause, and at a good price, it's got all the hallmarks of being a compilation you should own. And with a stellar cast of bands the only thing that lets this release down is the lack of unreleased or rare material.
With Motion City Soundtrack, Mae, The Starting Line, Sherwood, Yellowcard, Copeland, Cartel and The Matches all present and correct it's pretty obvious this is a sunny, happy CD - even if it's for a serious cause. Of the 18 songs here only a couple are duffers; I've never been sold on Bleed The Dream and This Is Me Smiling are pretty generic run-of-the-mill Sherwood clones. As I mentioned, the only thing that lets this down is that if you;re a fan of the bands, chances are you'll already have these songs. Still, for a cheap price, this is a solid record and one well worth picking up.
