Days are talking of us, The Miles Apart
I swear you couldn't look for a better straight up pop punk voice than Miles Apart frontman Lele's distinctive yelp. They're all Audio Karate riffs and thundering drums. This mini-album goes to showcase much of their newest material and, with really great artwork; it ticks most of the boxes. I would have though Paul would have picked up on this band and not let it slip away with my weekly parcel of cds; such is The Miles Apart's appeal. And another thing, they're from Italy. You wouldn't really be able to tell, despite the odd dreadful line and awkward word placement the Miles Apart seem to have tapped into the Southern Californian inside each of their three members and let forth a great big racket. A great pop-punk noise stacked to the rafters with emotional delivery and, luckily, sincerity.

First track "In Search of light" gets things off to a reasonable enough start before the title track comes along and beats it into submission; "Days are talking of us" manages to leave the rest of the album standing cold and shivering in a puddle of piss wondering what it was missing such is the height that "Days.." is taking aim from. After that the rest of the album follows much like the opener: good, but never again tasting that heady sugar "Days..." is packed with.

All in all this a good, solid little release, breaking out into brilliance briefly but still burning out bright, bright enough to merit a little interest over here, and bright enough for three and a half of our punktastic stars.
