It Won't Snow Where You're Going, Park
'No Signal' is on of my favourite albums ever; a seminal release that is literally perfect, yet amazingly has never been picked up by the mainstream. Yet Park remain the underground's best kept secret, which is shit for them but great for the elitists among us. Anyway, 'It Won't Snow We're You're Going' is the band's lastest album, their second for Lobster Records, and it's c'est magnifique as the French would proclaim if they heard it.

Park play music which is undefinable - other than it rocks, hard. Pigeonholing Park into a genre is condescending to their brilliance, all you need to know is that there's more emotion here than an episode of Saving Private Ryan. Each song is fantastic with a story to tell, the musicianship is immense and the production gorgeous. Don't listen to me, my words don't compare to the genius that is Park, just listen for yourself. But while this is a brilliant record, I don't quite think it comes up to the genius that was their first record.

Tracks like 'Gasoline Kisses For Everyone' and the amazing 'Day One and Counting' will hook you in and leave you drooling for more. Park aren't a happy band, and with subjects ranging from suicide to depression and anger you may well need the helplines left in the booklet. But with songs as good as 'Conversations With Emily', which really showcases the uniqueness of Ladd Mitchell's vocals, you'll just be left with a big smile on your face. Each song is great and words don't do them justice, but further standouts include 'Dear Sweet Impaler' and 'Your Latest Victim', while the morbidly named 'Which Wrist First' is also a mini-classic.

This came out late last year and is an absolute must for your collection. Ignore any 'emo' comparisons, this is just fantastic music by a fantastic band. While I'd pick 'No Signal' over this if I had to, this is still a record that puts so many more mainstream acts to shame. This review sucks so buy it now and revel in being in on one of the world's best bands that your friends are yet to hear...
