While You Weren't Here, Killing Pablo
Killing Pablo are from the 'Surrey hills' and are a four-piece with a distinct British feel, which is nice. We get a number of demos here at Punktastic, the majority of which are crap, so it's always good to get something which stands out a bit. 'While You Weren't Listening' is a pretty ood slab of punk rock, with driving riffs and authoratative vocals that stamp their mark on each song. The first thing to note is the strength of the recording, which despite being the band's first demo is very strong and will surely stand out for prospective promoters and label owners.

'Best Bit Of News In A While' is a clever opener, one of those tracks which grabs your attention from the off, as vocalists Duncan Ward and Tom patterson have a brash style that is very British, making the final product come off a bit like Snuff playing raw skate-punk. 'Anti-Hall' doesn't quite live up to the first track, but the lead guitar fills are interesting enough to hold your attention, while 'Australia' kind of hints at great things, but the vocals aren't as powerful as they might be. 'University of Privilige' is a good end though, with drums crashing and guitars buzzing, it's a song that sits well among the four on offer.

Killing Pablo made an impact on me and I recommend you check them out if they visit your town. It's the perfect demo in a sense, being four tracks that showacse their talents well; it's not over-bearing or too long and will probably get them some recognition. It's the best demo I've heard in quite a while.
