imageA former PT band of the week, there's a good chance they may well become band of the year. Very quietly A!A! are building things up ready for world domination and, believe me, if the world hears this album these Welsh boys are going to blow up huge. I know it's easy to throw around such grand statements, but Attack! Attack!'s debut album is one of the best, if not THE best, albums of the year. It's a beauty from start to finish, a rollocking dollop of pop-rock with huge, huge choruses. Think Kids In Glass Houses have stolen the 'best band from Wales' crown? Think again...

So a quick history lesson; Attack! Attack! are made up of ex-members of Dopamine, Pete's Sake, Midasuno and Adequate 7, yet sound like none of those bands at all. Not even close. Think a mellower Lostprophets or a more rockin' KIGH and you're still not that close, but it's a comparison that will do. There's driving riffs, very good vocals and some massive singalongs. Every song is a future single, from 'Lights Out' to 'Too Bad Son' to 'Home Again'. The influences are wide and far reaching too; there's elements of Armor For Sleep, at times they sound like Gatsbys American Dream. But there's this refreshing honesty throughout. 'Lost For Words' has a huge foot-stomping riff built around a massive chorus. 'You and Me' is an anthem in waiting. 'From Now On' will have you singing along in no time. See a common theme developing?

And the thing is, this record is not just an instant hit but a grower too. Like all the best records it hooks you in but keeps you excited the more you listen. And at 10 songs and 32-minutes it leaves you satisfied yet yearning for another listen. By the time 'Time Is Up' ends you'll be reaching for the repeat button and another blast of 'Honesty'.

It's pretty much an instant classic. If you like 'STWHA'-era The Get Up Kids with a UK, rockier twist, then you'll probably like this record. Shit, if you like good music you will love this album! Forget the superlatives and get this album - now.
