Sinking Ships & Tallest Towers, Pictures Paint Words
imagePPW remind me of The Next Autumn Soundtrack, but a bit more simple and poppy. There's the obvious nods towards Cap'n Jazz and Spy versus Spy yet PPW also have a huge dose of melody. It's like they've been brought up on a good dose of pop music as well as the Dischord back catalogue. It works damn well too; while this record is perhaps one or two songs too long the very good songs are very good. 'White Rabbit', for instance, twists and turns but has a very nice vocal hook which reminds me a little of Bloc Party. All in all, pretty good stuff.
