Never Get A Wolf's Attention..., Shadows Chasing Ghosts
Oh goody, a band that scream and sing in equal measure with heavy de-tuned riffs blasting out all over the shop. How original. Despite being as original as a pop-punk cover of Rihanna's 'Umbrella', SCG aren't actually that bad at all. This 7-track EP was recorded at Outhouse Studios with John Mitchell so has a very polished sound. The tracks are a little hit and miss - 'Empires' and 'Thumbellina's Story' are more akin to A Day To Remember than 'Blueprints For Our Worst Laid Plans' which is more Hurt Process than anything else.

Overall this is of a reasonable standard and is much better than many UK acts of a similar sound, but it's all been heard before, and much better at that. Finch, Glassjaw, A Day To Remember... all bands that do this way, way better. There's talent here, that's obvious, but I'd much prefer to hear a band do their own thing than merely replicate their influences.
