Turtle Nipple and the Toxic Shock,

This record (and this band) is just stark raving bonkers. It's the aural equivalent of a pyscopath going on a bloody murder spree, switching from the sedate to the downright violent in the flick of a switch. Throw in some decidely odd song titles ('hahahahaha' for instance) and you have a band clearly mentally unhinged. Is there rhyme or reason or method to their madness? To be honest, I haven't got a bloody clue.
HHLL are like Blood Brothers if they grew up on a diet of Mastodon and Hatebreed. It's spazzy and vibrant but heavy at the same time. There's no sign of structure, the usual songwriting rules go out of the window and it makes for an interesting, if difficult, record to listen to. 'Eagle Mewnadria', at nine songs in, is the first chance to draw breath as the song builds up slowly with drums and feedback kicking things off. Before then there's a cacophony of noise raging from the speakers, violently blowing away the cobwebs as vocals screech and guitars rumble.
'Turtle Nipple...' is not an instant fix. It requires a lot of patience and a lot of listening. But it's rewarding for being different if nothing else. If you like aggressive music you may well like this - but be warned, it's fucking
