Rapture and Ruin, The Slowdance
The Slowdance are great - the best review I could give is to just say 'stop reading and go pick up this record' because it's really, really good. Having supported The Draft, Milloy and The Don Ramos Players you can get a sense of the band's style and on 'Jump Ship' they're every bit as good, if not better, than all of those bands. Put together. Yep, they're that good. EPs are meant to set the scene and leave listeners begging for more and that's exactly what The Slowdance have done with this record. The songs songs are all great in their own right, the gruff vocals and poppy melodies juxtapose brilliantly making songs like 'Diamonds' essential listening. A brilliant record by a brilliant band - definitely ones to watch.
