imageSecret Lives of the Freemasons are a very 'now' band. Mixing up the vocals of Head Automatica and the hooks of a Fall Out Boy, they certainly know how to hit all the right notes. Tell the truth, this album is a little generic and predictable but there are some huge melodies here and it's impossible not to like it. The first three or four tracks are absolutely awesome, 'Mascara' has an enormous chorus which will have you singing and tapping along like an idiot. 'Chug and leave' is a fantastic opener too.

It's this tack which makes the band so infuriatingly loveable. There's no doubt they're going to be big and kids will have their name emblazoned on their t-shirts by the summer, but don't let their impending popularity put you off. 'Why We Run' and 'Life Begins At 40oz' are just good old fashioned party anthems; the booze-fused first track really sets the tone and it's continued through 'Dirty Laundry' and another couple of tracks. This band like to party hard and they like to sing about it.

And the chances are you'll be singing back with gusto too - because this record is really, really catchy...
