Punch Your Lights Out, Danger Radio
Imagine Bryce Avary of The Rocket Summer fronting Panic At The Disco, singing songs the band had left on the cutting room floor and you've Danger Radio nailed to a tee. Ultimately this is just a band fronted by a flamboyant, wailing singer writing pop songs with some interesting basslines and drum beats. It's not new, it's not clever and, truth be told, it's not that catchy either. There's plenty of piano, plenty of jazz-based instrumentation and not enough singalong moments to eclipse either of the aforementioned bands. Ultimately the last few seconds of the last song were lifted from the last track on Panic's album and that kind of sums Danger Radio up - too much immitation, not enough innovation.
