Heroes, Hoods and Headphones, one:day:life
imageTo be fair to Suffolk youngsters one:day:life they're showing you can do a lot as a band without label backing and their efforts really are an example to many, many bands that you can get off your bums and make a name for yourself if you put the effort in. They have a very professional looking website, have pulled off a schools tour and self-released their debut album. Although the £10 price tag is a tad steep...

Regardless, one:day:life do the Simple Plan-esque pop-punk thing pretty well. It's very Americanised, very catchy and they don't re-invent the wheel. It's done better by many other bands, but this is a fair stab at the genre and I can see a lot of young kids liking this. Remember the good old Golf Records days when Spunge and Whitmore ruled the roost? Well one:day:life appeal to that demographic and I imagine they'd have been huge 5 or so years ago when that type of music was a bit more fashionable than it is now. Despite that, they're clearly on the right lines and well worth checking out - even if they're not the next big thing.
