Massacre Songs EP, Mike Scott
A CDR scrawled with marker pen barely reading “Mike Scott Promo” could mean only one thing... this CD was going to be raw. Mike Scott might be better known amongst the PT community as the bassist from Phinius Gage and this solo album has allowed him to escape the confines of his four-string and dabble at the intricacies of the acoustic guitar.

This CD is nearly as raw as they come, but armed with only his guitar and a flat top piano a high budget wasn’t necessary for this recording. Mike Scott is not a fantastic singer, neither is he the world’s best guitarist (although he’s more than passable.) But within these 10 short tracks he bears his soul for whoever cares to listen. 100% genuine and 0% pretentious, his unique brand of mellowed out acoustic punk was the perfect remedy to an otherwise disappointing Friday afternoon.
