Nightlife, Sick City
imageLike Hawthorne Heights? Like Sick City!

Well that was easy, wasn't it? The crux of this band is that they do the very generic emo-rock thing to a reasonable standard. There are some catchy moments, some Avenged Sevenfold-esque guitars and some very reasonable breakdowns, but it's all been heard before. And while I can't criticise the end product too much because tracks like 'Moving, Not Moving Forward' are actually quite good, the record as a whole is just so predictable and safe I simply cannot give it that great a score. Songs blend into one another, the odd standout aside, but the fact this could be any of a million bands currently on the circuit will really stunt their growth.

Sick City need a slick video and a bit of radio airplay and I can see them doing very, very well. But it's nothing we haven't heard or seen before.
