3-track demo, Midterm Break
The trick of any band is to make sure you have a solid vocalist. As the focal point of the band, if the singer can't sing, well, you're fucked. Unfortunately for Midterm Break, the singer can't hit anything but really basic notes. This, in turn, limits his range and ultimately the band sound monotonous and dull. Pop-punk as a genre isn't usually littered with great vocals. But being able to push the range is an absolute must and sadly Midterm Break sound really, really flat with their current singer. Musically the band are average, the songs aren't too bad but they're not catchy enough to really hit the spot. Singing lessons and lots of practice are a must of Midterm Break are to avoid going back to school...
