Beyond Reason, Puck
I'll be honest, Puck are pretty good at what they do. It's just what they do isn't my thing at all. It's shiny female-fronted rock with the flashing of cameras and radio stations in mind, and while there's absolutely nothing wrong with that at all, it's just not something I listen to in my spare time. The seven tracks here are all really well done for that sort of thing; it's difficult to pigeonhole the band because I'm not sure if they don't really sound like anybody else or whether it's because I don't know the genre enough to make comparisons. That said. vocalist Amy-Jay sounds like Britney Spears on 'Michael', which is rather bizarre. Ultimately, they'll probably go on to do quite well for themselves, but I won't be listening, sadly...
