Old Scars, Born To Lose
imageTexan punk with a bit of bite, there are enough melodic undertones and backing shouts to keep this record playing for at least a few spins. Released on the charming I Used To Fuck People Like You In Prison records, the band themselves described their brand of musical delight as 'pub punk', which judging by the amount of 'woahs' and 'ois' is possibly not too far removed. At 17 tracks and 45 minutes of rock and roll action this isn't too bad a listen - it's generic and a little dated, but the stronger songs - such as 'Our World' and 'Hey Yeah' carry this through the weaker ones. It won't change anyone's life, but Born To Lose are good enough to at least warrant a listen or two.
