Mr Happy Chainsaw have progressed as a band in the last two years, but for a group on their third release you'd really expect a better recording than this. This four-tracker sounds like it was recorded in a dustbin - the drums sound poor and the guitar tone is echo-ey. Infact only the vocals come out with any kind of kudos on the recording front. That severely hampers MHC for me, and sadly the band's songs - while arguably the best they've done yet - are still some way from the levels I'd expect a band should have progressed to.

'Midas Eyes' sounds lethargic and lazy without a killer chorus, while 'Your Best Friend' is again a bit of a plodder that doesn't really go anywhere. It's not all bad, I hasten to add, but for a band that's been around as long as these have, I expect a little better.
