Like Copeland? Like Ellison!
Thank fuck we've got that one sorted out so quick! Signed to Hawthorne Heights' frontman JT Woodruff's label, Carbon Copy (which may now be defunct, I'm not sure), Ellison are like a slightly more rock-based version of Copeland. And that's an ever-so-slightly more rock based version at that. With slick choruses and vocals almost identical to those of Aaron Marsh, if you're a Copeland fan it's impossible not to enjoy Ellison. They're pretty tame, but they do have some really solid songs and for all the generic sounds that eminate from this album, you can't beat tracks like 'June' and the album's title track, which are just good old pop rock songs.
Why re-invent the wheel when you can do what other people do just as well? That could well be Ellison's new motto. Either way, this, for what it is, is pretty good and comes recommended to those who like catchy pop rock songs. And Copeland.
