Punch Your Lights Out, Danger:Radio
Hailing from Washington in the United States are a band that arguably bring more disco to the indie-rock scene than arena selling Panic! At the disco, and that's no mean feat. Danger Radio aren't as polished as those Fueled By Ramen darlings, and at times the computerised beats aren't as impressive, but their "Punch your lights out" EP is well worth a listen.

It's quite easy to find yourself tapping your feet along to opening track "Party foul" on your very first listen and that's what's so great about this band. It's a disco influenced track with the sort of camp dancey feel we've come to associate with bands such as Panic and The Academy Is in recent years, but at the same time this band could branch out and grab the attention of those more interested in indie rock than pop-punk. You can expect similar foot taps and hand claps while listening to "Keep it up" and "Sparkle Baby Shine" - although neither are as instant.

Vocally the band aren't too strong though, and at times you think tracks such as "Slow" could do with a bit more power behind them. That's something that I could imagine grating on some people though and this EP certainly doesn't have a universal appeal. The "Punch your lights out" EP is a solid release by a fairly un-heard of, and un-signed too it appears, band that could blow up in a similar way to Panic! At the disco if heavily produced and marketed.
