My word, this couldn't be any more early Dashboard Confessional if it tried! There's no doubt that singer/songwriter John Vesely has talent, but his whispery vocal style is so close to Chris Carrabba's that a comparison is inevitable. If you enjoyed 'The Places You've Come To Fear The Most' you'll love and hate this record in equal measure - it's undeniably influenced by it, yet isn't anywhere near as strong. As a result, I've been left scratching my head as to how any artist can pretty much plagarise another and try and make a career off the back of it. The songs on this 12-track album aren't horrendous by any means, but there are far too many similarities for me to take this too seriously - which is going to be a major problem. That said, with 200,000 myspace friends and a deal with East west, there's a good chance we'll be hearing more 'secondhand' music in the future...
