Cmonletmeseeyoupogo, Billy No Mates
imageBilly No Mates have a really interesting concept. Basically the solo project of former Snuff head-honcho (I say former, are they still active?) Duncan, he's managed to put together a team of musicians in this country to play in the 'west', while there's also a bunch of Japanese musicians to play in the 'east'. Canny. 'Cmonletmeseeyoupogo' is the band's second record and Duncan's nasally vocal style is evident - while the band don't really sound too much like Snuff, there's no doubt that if you were a fan of the band originally, you'll want to head out and pick this one up too.

This record is essentially a blast of short and sharp Brit-influenced pop-punk gems. It's fast and furious and nice and catchy, everything you associate with Snuff, but perhaps without the cheeky sense of humour. 'Sake Bomb' and 'Weirdo' are chunky tracks with nice big riffs, while Duncan's vocals are pretty much spot on throughout. While it probably doesn't hit Snuff's high standards, this is still pretty good and well worth checking out.
