Everything's Watched, Everyone's Watching, Heavy Heavy Low Low
imageFerret's Heavy Heavy Low Low (HHLL for the rest of this review!) are, unsurprisingly, a band that rely on heavy riffs, tuned low. And with some blood curdling screams and metallic jazz noise thrown in for good measure, it creates an interesting 11-tracker - which actually flies through at just 22 minutes in length. From the onset of 'This Is testing The Patience I've Never Had', this is just a brutal record without absolutely not let up.

And even when the band lull you into a false sense of security, such as 'Kids, Kids, Kids' when a slightly lighter riff eventually snowballs into a cavalcade of de-tuned guitars, HHLL are just pure madness on a CD. While there are bands that do the heavy jazz thing slightly jazzier (The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower and Fear Before The March Of Flames spring to mind), this lot rely less on dynamics and more on the heavy-side to their music. While not the best in the genre, this is still a good record and suggests HHLL will be ones to watch in 2007.
