S/T, 7 Years
For some reason I had it in my head that Seven Years were quite a lo-fi act - so when 'I Hope You Drown' came catapulting out of the speakers I got a bit of a surprise, especially following the calming 'biology'. After the initial shock I came to quite like this little EP, it doesn't do too much other bands haven't done already, but it's fast and furious and contains a couple of really good tracks. 'It's All Down From Here' is great, while the chugging 'happy?' is also impressive. As I've mentioned, there's little here that we haven't heard before, but it's done pretty well and that's all you can ask. There are a few decent bands fighting for recognition in Northampton right now and this EP does Seven Years' reputation no harm at all.
