1922/Reflective Clothing, Action and Action
Last December, when Action and Action sent me their last demo, I remarked about how the band's Spy vs Spy-esque sound stood out from a pack of demos I'd received at the time. Unfortunately, the band's latest two-track effort doesn't quite hit those same heady heights. While the band are clearly a talented bunch, this double-A side vinyl release showcases two tracks which haven't really moved the band on all that much in the 11 months since I last heard them. Don't get me wrong, everything you;d expect to be here is here - the jazzy drums and the impassioned vocals - but for a band that made quite an impact on me first time around, they didn't quite do the same on second listen. Still, if Spy vs Spy and bands of that ilk float your boat, you could do a lot worse than this lot.
