State of Nature, Vaeda
Truth be told, Vaeda aren't too bad - but it's difficult to look past the bands they sound like. At times they come across like the Lostprophets ('Wait Your Turn'), at others Incubus - at worst they come across like Staind ('Cacophony'). But while the band's sound may not herald the dawning of a new musical revolution, at least they have all the pre-requisites to at least have a minor radio hit or two. When the band don't plod around like Staind they come across like a band pumped and full of energy. And as contrived as their sound may be, 'All For You' and 'Thief' are tracks loaded with melodies and strong choruses. It's all relatively safe stuff, but certainly worthy of a listen if you're on the lookout for new bands.
